30.30 Day 7: It’s Not About the Money

It dawned on me last night that I might want to take a moment to discuss an important part of my 30.30 commitment: money. My last post (and maybe some other posts as well as posts to come) may give the impression that my commitment is about money. Some of you may read these posts and think, “But what about the other stuff in life? It’s not all about money.” And I agree … to some extent.

For several years I have read and listened to many people discuss topics from spirituality to personal growth to Law of Attraction. This knowledge has been woven in with my studies of anatomy & physiology, CranioSacral Therapy, neuroanatomy, mind-body connections,  and quantum physics. The teachings I find myself resonating with the most are the Teachings of Abraham. Through my ’study’ of Abraham’s teachings, I have come to believe the following regarding money …

It’s about FREEDOM

Yup. Wanting money is really about wanting freedom. Think about it … no seriously … close your eyes and think about this for a moment. When you imagine yourself having money, do you imagine the actual money? Probably not. You probably think about things like being able to travel, or being able to live in a certain location, or being able to work at a certain job, or not having to work at all! This is about freedom and the ability to live your life the way you want to live it – the way you were meant to live it!

Imagine how free you would feel if you didn’t have any debt, if you owned your home and your car, and you could do whatever you wanted every day. That’s freedom. And it’s that freedom that moves us into living a joyous, loving life. So how does the actual money play into this?

In this time/space reality that we currently exist in, it just so happens that this energy that we have labeled ‘money’ is what allows us, or buys us, our freedom.  The money itself does not hold that power. It is the energy of the money that allows us to exchange it for the energy of freedom. And for me, that is the key to it all.

When I visualize it’s not about money. I visualize about travel, hanging out with friends, going out to dinner and paying for everyone, meeting new and interesting people, staying up late, going to concerts, buying only organic foods all the time, getting weekly bodywork, getting a monthly Dr. Hauschka facial, being able to help a friend or family member if they need something … or big things like being able to open a low cost health clinic …

But behind all my visualization is  freedom. The freedom to do anything without obstacles.

I hope that makes sense to you; and maybe even inspires you a little bit to think about what freedom feels like for you … maybe even think about it for 3 minutes, or 5 minutes, or 15 minutes …

Love to all
